The Hive has a wonderful group of volunteers who enjoy gardening (or wish to learn) to grow produce on site.
Aims:
• To fully utilise the areas of land allocated for gardening
• To grow food to share
• To model living more self sufficiently
• To share gardening tips and learn what works well
• To develop The Hive community by involving more members actively
How it will work:
• Each member of the gardening team will be allocated their own space to work on within an overall plan of what we wish to grow
• Seeds will be provided
• Tools will be available, but you may bring your own favourites if you prefer
• All gardening is to be carried out following a permaculture approach ie no weed killer
• There will be a weekly session for the gardening team (Wednesday mornings). Some other times may be free on Mondays and Fridays
• Eat what you grow and share surplus
Required:
• You will need to be a member - £25 for individual membership for a year
• Commitment to care for your space as part of The Hive community
Benefits:
• Spending time in a lovely place
• Working alongside others to share and learn
• Eating organic food
• Being part of an ongoing experiment in sustainable living and community building
